Dr. Michael Walker: Lessons from Global Experience for Health Care Reform in The Bahamas

by Rick Lowe (http://www.weblogbahamas.com)

The Nassau Institute has launched a YouTube Channel as advised a couple days back.

However, with the raging debate in the US about socialised medicine, I think it is important for citizens of the US and Bahamas alike to get a first hand look at the famous or infamous Canadian system.

There are few people that will give you as frank and information packed talk like Dr. Michael Walker of The Fraser Institute in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada.

I hope you enjoy the video below, recorded for a Nassau Institute and Atlas Economic Research Foundation seminar a couple years ago, but please check out all eight of them for a great perspective on the Canadian system. I realise Dr. Walker was addressing a health care system that was being proposed for The Bahamas at the time, but the statistics presented are certainly relevant to the US debate at this time.
