Are illegal activities for sale in the Bahamas?

Sidney Sweeting, DDS

The lead story in the Punch yesterday stated "National Security Minister Tommy Turnquest has reportedly blasted Police Chief Reginald Ferguson over the raids by cops on numbers houses."

It also alleged that the PM and Turnquest accepted a donation of $100,000 last year for hurricane relief from the owner of the numbers houses.

Since gaming houses are an illegal activity, is this telling us that freedom from prosecution for an illegal acivity can be bought. If this is so, then Government should provide the public with a list showing how much each criminal has to donate in order to continue in their particular category of crime.

It is a sad day when the police are criticized for doing their job.

I wonder how much is is for murder because I think there are some that get off on murder charges for sure, in my opinion. I think that between the AG’s office, the courts, some crooked cops, crooked politicians, I am shocked that anybody is in jail at all. The jail must be full of the people that had no money.Just my opinion.

The jail full of them and people who might’a had money but got fleeced by lawyers.
Or perhaps they didn’t cut the right people in on their action, lawyers included.
Tommy, if he said what he is reported to have said, just showed me how clueless he is.
I am trying to obtain in order to read the report to see if he just got confused momentarily.
