Global United Limited (GUL) Bahamas CEO alleges political victimisation on his companies demise

by Rick Lowe

Former PLP candidate Mr. Jackson Ritchie is allegedly blaming the FNM government for the failure of his business.

Well blow me down.

Somehow he allegedly got away with not paying millions of dollars in taxes to the public treasury, and now that the government want to collect it all, which will reportedly cause him to close his business, it's all their fault?

I don't get it.

As far as I am aware, I can't get a bolt off the dock without paying the government what they are due, and GUL admits to not paying millions of dollars in taxes, for a couple years I believe, and somehow the government is wrong to try and collect it?

The older I get, the more it seems we attempt to justify our failures by blaming someone else.

I don't pray much, but I sure do hope I never catch that virus.

I can tell you I get no credit from them at all and never have, but Government will bow to any percieved threat to their public standing, valid or not.
Spineless, and clueless to the fact that people defraud, lie and steal because they
    GET AWAY WITH IT !!
The problem as I see it has been brokers getting paid by clients, but brokers not forwarding funds.
I’ve been told he is not the only one, and that most of them have frittered the funds or pocketed them, so now I hear Government is trying to go after the companies who did pay to brokers in good faith against specific entries still unpaid.
    Will this garbage never end?

The government has gone after companies that have paid in good faith and the Broker did not forward the money. I know personally of this siutation.

I don’t doubt that at all Ryan.
However, I would think that the broker is responsible according to the law, no?

I can only hope the old saying is true, “Time is longer than rope”. In the end, I don’t think there will be any accountability in this country at all.I will maintain, action speaks louder than words. Stop all the talk & get it done !
