Bahamas Union now taking credit for getting workers back to work at Atlantis

by Rick Lowe

While driving to work on Friday past, I'm convinced I heard a representative from the hotel workers union taking credit for Atlantis recalling some 150 employees back to work after the recent layoffs.

He claimed he was working tirelessly on behalf of his members to get their jobs back.

Of course he would have to give the impression he is working on behalf of those people whose dues keep him in the lifestyle he has grown accustomed to, but to suggest that he got their jobs back is, well, outrageous.

Last time I checked, Atlantis owns those positions, and only Atlantis can decide when to rehire people to meet their needs.

What am I missing?
