The discussion seems endless. The Haitians are taking over. Soon they’ll run the country. They bring all this crime here. We should send them back. And on and on.
Maybe there are too many illegal immigrants but I submit that many of them make a valuable contribution to The Bahamas.
Drew Carey raises some interesting points with relation to immigration in the US in the following short video for reason.tv.
There are certainly some similarities with the immigration “crisis” in the US and the immigration “problem” here.
I think Carey makes some excellent points. What do you think?
Preach it Drew. Great points. But I’d add that while the Irish, etc were met with opposition, they were incorporated into the fabric of American life with no KKK, etc ready to lynch them. Meanwhile African-Americans and Mexicans are still discriminated against in hiring, and are victims of bias crimes, murders (and their history hasn’t truly been incorporated into K-12 and Grad schools.) So we haven’t gotten rid of the racism.
