Is Capitalism ruining The Bahamas and the world?

Do you often wonder why people that oppose Capitalism have no faith in mankind to figure things out when problems occur?

When we consider where the world has come because of Capitalism it seems short sighted.

Things like air conditioners, automatic transmissions, plane rides and more are taken for granted.

The person that convinced me that all is not lost was Julian Simon, and I would recommend a couple books and essays for the faint of heart when you start to lose faith in Human Action and want to sell your soul to the government, so to speak.

Start with this article The Doomslayer from Wired.’

Then check out Julian Simon’s book The Ultimate Resource.

If that doesn’t motivate you read It’s Getting Better All The Time: 100 Greatest Trends of the Last 100 Years by Stephen Moore.

There’s still more…

If you’re still not convinced read The Improving State of the World: Why We’re Living Longer, Healthier, More Comfortable Lives on a Cleaner Planet by Indur M. Goklany.

And for good measure finish up with Julian Simon’s own A Reply to My Critics.

Once you’re done all that, you’ll be bound to feel better about things.
