Gas prices in The Bahamas and Double Standards

With prices at the pump reaching $5.59 per gallon last week, there were a few more complaints about the rising price of gas around the office water cooler. When compared to Britain and Turkey, for example, where prices are in double digits, we sound like were just complaining for the sake of it.

But Jeffrey Tucker over at the Ludwig von Mises Institute makes you stop and think even more with his latest article, What Are Just Prices?

He makes the point that we all expect our house to gain value and our stocks to continue to appreciate. Yet, for some reason we think the price of gas is supposed to remain constant.

It’s an interesting perspective, and the entire article is worth reading.
