The editorial in The Punch of Thursday, May 8, 2008 is spot on.
They make the case that voters put their trust in the FNM to deal with the allegations of scandals by numerous people under the former PLP administration.
The Punch goes on to list a litany of things that probably lead Bahamians to vote against the former government, yet the FNM has gone silent and there appears to be no hope for a Commission of Inquiry or prosecutions.
Letting everyone ‘slide’ only perpetuates the level of corruption that reportedly runs through out our society.
I have a theory on why the FNM might not pursue prosecution in the matters raised by them against the PLP before and during the election campaign.
And what is that you ask?
I have come to the conclusion that both political organisations let each other slide off the proverbial hook, just in case they need a similar favour when they are voted out of office.
What’s your take?
