My wife went the airport on Monday and when she got home she was lamenting how drivers simply stop in the middle of the road to talk or otherwise without a care in the world about other drivers.
She even experienced a Police car pulling a truck over on the Cable Beach strip and proceed to block both lanes so the traffic could not pass. Until she blew her horn, the Police did not seem to realise that they were holding up the traffic.
We see this all the time with personal and commercial vehicles.
It seems many Bahamian drivers are unaware of their surroundings or they just don’t care.
Which do you think it is?
I don’t think they care at all, not one little bit.They show you they don’t care & action speaks louder than words.The same way they pull up to the ramp & stop right in the road, they do it anywhere they feel. Until people start to get tickets & fines for this stuff, it is not going to stop. The Bahamas is the only place in the world where zero tolerance must mean something else !
I thought Zero Tolerance was the Bahamian attitude?
I don’t tolerate you, you don’t tolerate me, Civil Servants tolerate no one and politicians have almost no tolerance, except for election time, when they tolerate us enough to get our vote!
Yet we all tolerate our societies decay, poor service, government excuses and misconduct.
DO you think we will ever get serious and confront our real issues?
Maybe when its too late, like we tend to do everything else. When we as a people have had enough, maybe then.
