Perry Christie and PLP in fight for survival?

Along with doubts that they can retain Malcolm Adderley as a member, the PLP have been blind sided by the resignation of Kennedy M.P. Kenyatta Gibson.

This comes at difficult time for the PLP as they have three cases before the Election Court, challenging the outcome of the May 2, 2007 poll that few people honestly believe they can win, particularly as they put the machinery in place as the government of the day.

Of course this not so humble blogger sheds no tears for the PLP as they created the monster they now face by defending the indefensible during their tenure as Government from 2002 – 2007.

In fact, Mr. Christie refused to deal decisively with several members of his party when serious allegations were raised in the public domain.

However, this is not the time to gloat about the PLP’s possible demise as they tended to do when their Opposition parties faced similar circumstances over the years.

Let’s hope that they can get this resolved so they can focus on being an Opposition party in Parliament.

Our Country matters more than these internecine battles both inside and outside of Parliament.

    Rick,
I agree with you, but you have to admit that karma is a you know what!
I don’t think that the PLP prepared for any of the challenges they are facing today. Frankly, their desperate charge to be re-instated as the government via the courts now seems null and void.
I’m told, from reliable sources, that the fallout from Kenyatta’s departure is only beginning and that the best is yet to come!

I agree that we should not gloat over their problems but I believe that for awhile it would be better that they not be heard from in the house so the Prime Minister can at least let us know what they intend to do to try and solve the myriad of problems that he inherited.
After all, the opposition said it very clearly from the begining – that their job was to try and disrupt everything the Government tried to do.
Perhaps when their internal fighting is finished they can come back as patriots and start thinking about what is good for the country or is that too much of a dream.

Seems like a dream to me as well Dr. Sweeting. But something our nation really needs.

I would say in the last forever, the PLP NEVER do what is best for the Country, only whats best for their own pockets !
