Every now and then an honour is bestowed on an individual that is well deserved. And that person is Felix Stubbs, a quiet contributor to much that is good about our little country.
According to The Tribune of Saturday, January 20, 2007, Felix was “honoured by the Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem in a solemn ceremony of investiture – the first held by the order in the Bahamas.”
Congratulations Felix, you make us proud!
As I mentioned to a friend, when an honour like this is bestowed by a private organisation it is much more worthy than those presented by the government because it is not prejudiced by politics.

Amen … congratulations all around! Felix was the first supporter of the Briland Modem Fund’s Out Island community technology centre network back in 2000, and not only loaned us the IBM curriculum to get government, local business and tourism managers online and operational, but foot (footed? fet? fot?) the bill for the instructor’s accommodations as she hosted training programs in Harbour Island and Eleuthera. They could not have honoured a more singular man.
