This week I was alerted by Rick Lowe that there was some interesting commentary on Bahamas Uncensored, a site that could be written by Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell. This commentary comes after the publication of my column denouncing the American embargo against Cuba and reflecting upon a conversation with US Ambassador John Rood where I expressed my opposition to the crude and ruthless embargo.
According to the foolish writer/s of Uncensored, my name is usually associated with "Uncle Tomism and suck up to his authority figures in The Tribune and the FNM". This is laughable! Nothing is further from the truth, as the Tribune has no say relative to my opinions on issues nor have I had any contact with the FNM regarding any column. This is simply as campaign to lie to the public and spread misinformation. And please Mr Mitchell, get over your inferiority complex!
The site also alleges that I am worried about being fired because I am "attacking Government ministers in violation of the public service rules"……I have not one worrisome or frightened bone in my body about any firings, so Mr Mitchell and his cohorts should get their vivid imaginations in check. If it isn’t their creative imaginations, whoever the source is that is feeding the site’s writer/s the false information that they are publishing should not be believed.
Bahamas Uncensored goes on to say that I am "trying to get into law school and is looking for help from the government to accomplish that". Firstly, I do want to become a lawyer, however I have not applied to any school as yet or ever tried and I have not sought any help from any government. Where do they get this self-absorbed crap?
I say here unequivocally, I have never approached anyone in this government about any assistance to go to law school. The claims of that/those imaginative mind/s at Bahamas Uncensored are all lies!
The site also claimed: "But perhaps there is hope for this chap after all. His African blood might just have, might just have begun to stir". What kind of hope are they speaking of? And so, in a backhanded compliment, there is "hope" for me…..wow!! I didn’t get the memo that said I had no hopes to begin with! And as for the racial comment, whoever writes the content of the website (you-know-who) would do well to know that I don’t have an inferiority complex and that I have quite the diverse background. My African blood stirred all along, just not to the point of stupidity where I would play the race card or be blindly manipulated.
Whether its Mr Mitchell or his followers that write this bemusing and puerile site, they all need to get a life.
And, there’s so much more to come in the new year……….so stay tuned!
