While America is not perfect they’re a damn site better than most of the countries their critics lead in this bloggers not so humble opinion.
Kofi can presumably retire on a fat UN pension that is funded mostly by contributions from the US.
As the cartoon post over at The iPinions Journal noted this morning, why would Annan talk about his failures, scandals, crimes and incompetence. It’s easier to talk about America’s as he ride’s off into retirement.
The double standards of some of the worlds leaders are intriguing.

I’m flattered by this coincidence.
But here’s to hoping the new SG uses his good offices more to help the world’s poor than to curry favour with his European bettors….

And hopefully they will help the poor by encouraging sensible economic policies in those countries.
