Today marked the culmination of several weeks work with the launch of a private sector group to “make a very positive and constructive contribution to developing a (health care) plan that will produce the best results for our Bahamian people.”
The NCHCR is comprised of the following organisations:
The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce National Congress of Trade Unions The Medical Association of the Bahamas The Bahamas Hotel Association The Bahamas Employers Confederation The Small Business Association of The Bahamas The Bahamas Hotel Employer’s Association The Nassau Tourism & Development Board The Nassau Institute The Bahamas Dental Association The Bahamas Insurance Brokers Association The Bahamas Motor Dealers Association The Bahamas Manufacturers Agents and Wholesalers Association Doctors Hospital Bahamas General Insurance Association.
They have launched a web site to disseminate their reports and or progress. You can access the site by clicking here.
Personally I am absolutely opposed to the government taking over the health care industry in The Bahamas so I hope the NCHCR is successful in their efforts to “improve” health care in the country.
