We received this e-mail from a friend earlier today regarding the road works at Shirley and Mackey Streets set to begin on Monday, October 2, 2006.
The writer notes:
…I wanted to draw your attention to the signage that’s been posted alerting motorists to the roadworks about to begin at the intersection of Shirley and Mackey streets…the Ministry of Works and Kerzner are advising motorists to take alternate routes where possible…forgive my ignorance, but for people who are stuck in that bumper to bumper traffic every morning and afternoon, wouldn’t you think if there *were* an alternate route people would already be taking it?
Now there’s a darn good point!
Thanks for taking the time to e-mail us.
Isn’t it typical?
They can tell us which health care plan we are going to have but they can’t come up with an alternate route for traffic.
There seems to be some confusion about the role of Government.
I would suggest making Bay St. two-way. but no one “consulted” me.
Then again, there seems to be some confusion about the word “consult”.
