Bahamians beware of the big bad wolf across the Gulf Stream, the Cuban Ambassador’s warning to Bahamians. Americans are about to take advantage of not only Cubans post Fidel, but also of Bahamians.
Fortunately we have a history of American “advantage” as a major source of wealth creation for Bahamians. It is apparent to everyone except perhaps Arthur Foulkes – (we all know about Foreign Minister Fred) who seems to have been all overcome with doubt.
Thankfully, there are signs of reaction against the perfidious tergiversation (look it up) that, like a dormant illness has finally become a full-blown rash of insidious nonsense. (This is not a vocabulary lesson it is an alternative to rude expletives to express disgust).
Bahamians well understand who butters the bread in this country.
We can understand Felix Wilson’s resentment against the obvious success of the “American dream philosophy ”. However his boss – super uberalles – is no dreamer and even if his pragmatic communism has not led to a decent standard of living for the Cuban people – it sure has for Fidel, to the tune of $900 million dollars secure in a some tax-haven.
Mr. Wilson’s references to American “morality” would be better directed to understanding why Cuban’s have a problem filling that empty space in the pit of their stomachs. International challenges and “stability in the region” are of no concern when there is no freedom to speak or even to work as one chooses.
Why do we tolerate Felix Wilson fomenting hatred of the good because they are good; the simplest explanation for the anti-Americanism he spouts.
Good-bye Felix, don’t slam the door on your way out.
