I’m in the throes of trying to make heads or tails of the Middle East conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Frankly I’m lost, but this link at Wikipedia about Hezbollah was very useful.
While that helps with some of the history of the region and issues the people there face, how can it possibly be resolved?
Well Christopher Preble had this interesting post at Cato @ Liberty titled “A Monumentally Stupid Idea”.
One thing for sure, I’m opposed to war except in self defense.
But being the curious type these two pieces (Just War for the Sake of Argument by Stephen Bainbridge and More Than Hezbollah Can Chew? by Ralph Kinney Bennett) from TCS Daily might also assist you with your decision.
At the end of the day, I do not see a short term solution in a region with so many apparently disparate cultures and religions.
What’s your take?
