BahamasUncensored.com formerly FredMitchellUncensored.com is at it again accusing John Marquis, editor of The Tribune of being a racist because he dares publish material critical of the PLP and Bahamian institutions.
If this wasn’t so funny, one could pity those behind the BahamasUncensored propaganda.
Get ready because we are going to make a great leap here: One is a racist if they are a white foreigner critical of the PLP and failing Bahamian institutions? Wow!
It’s a classic case of shooting the messenger who happens to be reporting the views of people he interviews. Is there any wonder the country is imploding?
Maybe racist is spelled http://www.bahamasuncensored.com?
Of course Bahamasuncensored is racist, they are spawned of a racist ideology and racist nationalistic political party.
I am a white Bahamian who has suffered under the racist policies of the last 40 years, and although I realize this period of time was a “coming of age “for the Black majority, in oversight we simply changed the colonial master for one of our own.
If anything we went from “benevolent superiority “to “pure self serving greed although, it will be years before most will accept this.
But do you know what?
The only regret I have is that most of us do not question but simply accept the blame levied by
governments of the day that someone other that them/ ourselves are to blame.
Even so, in effect we learn nothing from our history, but simply repeat it.
I have a favourite saying, that after someone has invoked the race card, In day to day situations that “I’m sorry, I’m white but It was not my choice, but I am a Bahamian and of that i’m glad”
This is usually followed by a feeling of sadness because as long as this prevails, we will go nowhere black or white.
But our politicians will continue to profit, while we set upon each other.
So sad.
You are so right, Rick.
I was at the Rotary meeting in 1969 when Mr. Marquis gave his stirring speech which, if I remember correctly was titled “A Frightened Society”.
After reading the article to which you refer in Bahamas Uncensored it would appear that the “new PLP” would like to take us back to that era, with their threats of pulling work permits.
I have never been able to understand why, when they are rightly criticised they immediately pull out the race card. It’s a tactic that has really worn very thin – this is 2006!
It reminds of those people who speak profanity because they cannot speak proper English.
Instead of attacking a fine journalist and a gentleman, accept the cricism, learn from it and move on.
In other words, be a man!
PLP all the way! Love Yinna Bahamians But I’m a born supporter of the new PLP.
and Salute to the Rt. Hon. Perry G.Christie for he is an Honest, Clever Prime Minister that has done good deeds for the Bahamian people. Wish him Victory this time next year! “Registered Voter”
John Marquis does not Like Bahamians or the Bahamas that is racist, so the Present Government should on behalf of the Bahamian people ask him to LEAVE. NOW!
Supporter of the PLP 100%.
