You might wonder what Domain names and politicians have in common. Well read on.

All web site addresses (domain names) have .com or .org etc at the end of their names and this helps identify where the web site is based.

Believe it or not there is a .bs extension for web sites in The Bahamas that are available through the College of The Bahamas. But, there are many web sites in The Bahamas that use .com or ,org etc because of the difficulty of obtaining and cost associated with the .bs identifier.

However, politicians of all stripes attempt to convey themselves as more patriotic than most other Bahamians so one would think their web sites should end with .bs if no other Bahamian sites do. Just to set an example so to speak.

For example the Progressive Liberal Party’s web address is www.progressiveliberalparty.com and the Free National Movement’s web site address is www.freenationalmovement.org.

So much for patriotism from those that constantly speak disparagingly of those that do not fit their version of patriotism.
