Last night (Monday, May 8, 2006) the Minister for Local Government, V. Alfred Gray M.P. hosted a forum on the possibility of local governemnt for New Providence or Nassau as we all refer to this island.

All presenters, yours truly, the Hon. George Smith, Overseer Gregory Minnis, I.G. Stubbs, and the Minister were all in favour of the idea.

Now it is up to Nassuvian’s to decide.

This bloggers only concern is that is will not be local government as we would like to see it as politicians do not think we are capable of taking care of ourselves so they will not relinquish any real authority.

We shall see.
