The Nassau Guardian ran a story on March 29, 2006 by Mindell Small regarding a warning about “safeguarding sensitive information” issued by the acting general manager (what is an acting general manager any way?) in the wake of reports of staff allegedly being disrespected and sexually harrassed.
This is curious indeed. This sounds like information that should be made public in a “public corporation”.
All this begs the question of what else is considered confidential at the public owned corporation? Maybe financial data like accounts receivable and payable? How about the profitability of Water & Sewerage?
With every passing day it seems as if Parliament passes more laws to make private citizens more accountable, yet the same standards do not apply to politicians, government ministries, agencies and departments.
It’s all very curious indeed.
In closing, it has dawned on this blogger that an acting general manager must be a person that acts at doing a job, but does not really do it??? What else could it possibly be. Either one is a general manager or s/he is not a general manager.
By the way, here is the link to the Nassau Guardian story.
