image from www.weblogbahamas.comOf course there was a risk in electing the populist AMLO as president Sunday. But it was essential.

I recall many trips to Mexico in 60s-80s when for 18 years the country was nearly destroyed by the corruption of three successive PRI presidents. Their traces have remained though terms of the conservative PAN party and the “new” PRI.

A fresh approach like AMLO is the only solution.

 I hope that his leftist bark will prove worse than his bite.  He has already show signs of sensible compromise with the business community.
