In Memory Of The Honourable Theresa Moxey-Ingraham: A Phenomenal Woman

I have just been informed of the passing of Theresa Moxey-Ingraham. Theresa Moxey-Ingraham used to be a good friend of mine. We became friends during the teachers' strike in the early 1980s.

As a matter of fact, she was the only Cabinet Minister who stood up for me in 1999 when the government was attempting to fire me from the Public Service.

I can authoritatively say that Mrs Theresa Moxey-Ingraham was not in politics for what she could have gained but rather for what she was able to give to those whom she represented. She was not one of those politicians who entered Parliament as a pauper and exited as a millionaire. In fact, she left Parliament, as Miles Munroe said, empty. She made no secret deals, and as far as I am aware, she exited Parliament scandal free with her reputation and name in tact. A lesson that all Pariiamentarians should learn and a political life they should emulate.

DonaldMMcCartneyBefore entering frontline politics, Mrs. Theresa Moxey-Ingraham was an educator, who specialized in the teaching and speaking the "Queen's English." Indeed, for a "lil gal" from the real "Grove" she represented us well when she spoke in and out of Parliament.

Indeed, the hall's of Parliament or this nation will not experience or hear such diction so eloquently delivered again! Indeed, the present cohort of Parliamentarians should take a "page" from her book.

It would appear that she became somewhat of a recluse after diabetes took a toll on her health. She was a woman of immense conviction about right and wrong and that which was just or unjust. I know because I speak from experience.

May she now rest in peace from all of the pains and toils of this wretched life. Enjoy your eternal rest my honourable friend.
