One of the things that concerns me is our public educational system, so I've read the plans of the FNM, the PLP and the DNA and quote one phrase from each as follows:
Can you tell me which item applies to which political party?
Also, which one makes more sense to you?
- Commit to ongoing and transformative professional development opportunities for principals, teachers, and all other education stakeholders. (Blogger's note: Can someone translate this for me please?)
- Ensure that in all schools a percentage of teachers’ ‘professional days’ is used for training workshops and proper utilization between grade levels and subject areas; (Blogger's Note: What? I thought teachers 'professional days' was for training? Are they just used for holiday? If so someone needs to lose their job.)
- Ensure that all children completing the 3rd Grade are appropriately numerate and able to read and write. (Blogger's Note: Now here's a novel common sense approach. But I thought that's what schools were for in the first place.)
