Mass Graves in Haiti – Graphic Pictures – Please view with caution

Rick Lowe

A dear friend in Haiti, Daniel Rouzier, sent the following release to CNN and has given his permission to distribute it here in The Bahamas and the region.

Daniel has an amazing commitment to and love for his country and has such a positive belief in the future.

I warn you, a couple of the following photos are very graphic.

Please share this as far an wide as you can.

"Ms Charlie Moore
Producer
AC360
CNN

"Dear Ms Moore,

"I want to thank CNN and Mr. Anderson Cooper for reporting on the fact that bodies of earthquake victims were unceremoniously dumped in Ti-Tanyen.

"Please note that Haitians always show tremendous respect for our dead and that this thoughtless act should not in any way reflect who we are. Consequently, I want you to also report that as of today, Haitians have started the process to provide all the bodies dumped in Ti Tanyen  a decent sepulture.  In reality, over 1500 bodies were buried today and  the remaining 1000 or so will be buried tomorrow.

"I am attaching pictures that will show that on January 29, 2010, less than 12 hours after Mr. Cooper’s report, Bishop Pierre André Dumas, Father Richard Leo Frechette and volunteers from Food for the Poor burnt incense, sprinkled holy water on the bodies, recited the rosary of the painful mysteries of Christ’s life, dug mass graves and gave these pour souls a decent Christian burial.

"Once again, on behalf of a mourning nation please accept the expression of our deepest gratitude for taking the time to inform us about an atrocious situation and allowing us to correct it as quickly and as decently as we know how.

"Blessings and much love to you and all at CNN,

"In His Glorious Name,

"Daniel-Gérard Rouzier
