Economically illiterate or deliberately biased

about gas prices and what the president of the US can do about them stopped me in my tracks.

Obviously there isn't much the president can do about gas prices, but that didn't stop the Democrats of the day raising eternal hell about "skyrocketing " gas prices.

Here at home, the PLP, the Opposition party back then, were doing the same thing.

Before the election in May 2012 the continuous babble was how the FNM government of the day was responsible for anything bad.

Now that the PLP are the government they seem content with everything that was bad just a few months ago.

Surely if we are ever going to advance any further as a nation the political class has to be more consistent and less biased?

As the Reason article points out partisan or ideological bias is why Democrats are quiet today about "skyrocketing" gas prices in the US and I would bet dollars to donuts that's the same reason the PLP has gone silent on the issues they were so rabid about.

It will be interesting to see how the FNM reacts if they win the next government. Will they remain vigilant and fix the things they complained so bitterly about, or will bygones be bygones after the win. In other words will they be deliberately biased too?

As one former Deputy Prime Minister rejoiced after his party won a general election; "To the victor goes the spoils".

In the final, we the people have to stop accepting the rhetoric.

Nothing will change until the Bahamian people decide enough is enough.
Unfortunately, we have such short memories,
and basically get swept up in the festive fervor of elections.
The quality and integrity of our Elected falls far short, insofar as they fail the litmus of ethics, personally and professionally.
Generally their actions indicate they cannot see the trees for the forest,
but their behavior indicates they covet the forest.
Each and every one a Study in contradictions.
Is it any wonder no one knows where they stand?

Economically illiterate ..an excellent description… I recall one erstwhile Minister of fiancé, when asked, ‘What will you do for money?’ Replied….. ‘Print some more’

This is what they have become in America and now is a growing problem in the Bahamas.. The public-at-large are economically illiterate or as some commentators like say are “low information” people with no understanding of how government imposed economic policies will effect them.. How could you expect any more from people who are educated in a system of social indoctrination.. Lets face it, our system of education is biased by the socialist influence that has become the foundation of our school curriculum.. In the United States, the introduction of what is called the “Core Curriculum” the Federal Government is another step towards social unity of thinking within their schools.. The individual States are mostly opposed to the system, but the threat to withhold Federal funding has left the States with little choice.. No wonder private school enrollment is skyrocketing in the United States..
In the end, this is nothing more than collective (progressive bias) education, supported by the teacher’s unions, which is opposed by parents who want their children to receive an individual unbiased education.. Even Obama has sent his daughters to a private school, Sidwell Friends School in Washington, one of the top private schools in the United States.. No public school environments and indoctrination for his daughters.. No illiteracy or bias here, just good sense if you can afford it.. After all he attended private schools himself in Indonesia and Hawaii..
